Latvian Orienteering Night Jaunmārupe 2026

As evening quiet settled over the city streets, more than 7,000 people set off on a different kind of adventure. On the evening of September 18, the tenth Latvian Orienteering Night took place in 22 Latvian cities, attracting a record number of participants and showing that orienteering is not just a sport, but also a chance to come together, enjoy the thrill of competition and share an adventure that can captivate anyone.

Over ten years, Latvian Orienteering Night (O-Night) has become one of Latvia’s most anticipated autumn sporting traditions. This year, O-Night raised the bar even higher: for the first time, the event took place simultaneously in 22 Latvian cities, with 2,293 teams and 7,183 participants registered for the three-hour rogaining courses.

A big thank you to the more than 400 active-lifestyle enthusiasts who chose to explore the forests and most beautiful places of Mārupe Municipality on the night of September 18 🧡
This time, the team “Always Fourth” (Mārtiņš Jansons, Tomass Fedotovs) scored the most points: 142 out of a possible 150. The team “The Locals” (Ilze Krēmere, Helēna Simsone) took first place in the women’s category, “Other Twins in Mārupe” (Jānis Lakstkalns, Valdis Sirsniņš) were the top veterans, and the team “Amazing and Surprising” (Ruslans Samuševs, Etjēns Samuševs) showed the strongest family spirit

Heartfelt thanks also to our supporters—Mārupe Municipality, the Mārupe Youth Council, Mārupe Wake Park and others 🫶🏻🧡
