Why Hiking?

Elīna set her first major life goal at the age of 14 – to complete the Riga-Valmiera trek (107km). It soon became clear that this would not be possible without training on long distances, so it was decided to opt for a 100km hike. Unfortunately, in recent years, such events have no longer been held, so we have to organize them ourselves!

Why Try It?

ACHIEVING PERSONAL GOALS

Whether it's conquering a 100km distance for the first time, setting a new personal record in a specific distance, or battling self-motivation and various “demons in the head” – this is a great opportunity to reach new heights with the support of a volunteer helper and other participants!

SPORTING ACTIVITIES IN THE FRESH AIR

What could be better than spending time away from the usual city rush and daily chores? A long hike will be a great opportunity to “clear your head” and temporarily disconnect from constant stress.

 DISCOVERING NEW PLACES IN LATVIA

The most beautiful marshes, the most mushroom-rich forest corners, lingonberry and blueberry patches… After exploring the forest with friends, you can proudly show off the locations you’ve discovered!

K-PUNKTS TEAM RECOMMENDATIONS  FOR THE FIRST HIKE

BE RESPECTFUL AND FRIENDLY!

These are not races with the goal of “who comes first”, this is a place to step out of your comfort zone and push your boundaries! If you see someone in need of help, don't refuse! The organizers and volunteer assistants are also here to help you reach the finish line as successfully as possible.

  CAREFULLY CONSIDER YOUR GOAL!

Whether it will be completing the distance or setting a speed record. Be sure to prepare for achieving your goal by considering specific training and equipment. This hike might be one of the ways to prepare for something bigger.

READ THE RACE REGULATIONS AND PRE-RACE INFORMATION CAREFULLY!

Important information is often found there, and ignoring it might lead to difficulties in completing the course or create problematic situations.

 PREPARE THOROUGHLY FOR THE HIKE!

Plan how to get to the race center, it might be necessary to arrange for someone to assist at the finish, and plan carefully what to bring with you (water, food, clothes, medication, wipes, etc.) after the hike.
