During the 100 km route, participants must visit 5 checkpoints – start, CP1, CP2 (same location as start and finish), CP3, and finish.

During the 50 km route, participants must visit 3 checkpoints – start, CP1, and finish.

These checkpoints are included in the route and must be visited in the order listed above, travelling only along the designated route. Each checkpoint has its own operating hours within which participants must arrive – arriving earlier or later does not guarantee the availability of the equipment mentioned in the pre-start information.

The exact location, operating hours, and available facilities at checkpoints will be confirmed later.

TERRAIN

The hike route will mostly follow wide, clearly visible roads that are easy to navigate. Zemgale is a forested area, but approaching towns there will be more agricultural land and meadows. The beginning and end of the route will have slightly more pronounced terrain. The route will pass through forest trails, gravel roads, paved roads, pavements, and a few kilometres along a highway. The route planner recommends choosing footwear suitable for harder surfaces. A more detailed surface analysis for both the 50 km and 100 km hikes will be available in the pre-start information.

ROUTE AND REQUIRED NAVIGATION EQUIPMENT

The 100 km hike distance will consist of two 50-kilometre loops. The first loop will take participants towards Iecava, while the second heads towards Stelpe. The start, checkpoint 2, and finish will all be at the same location. Expected checkpoint distribution (0 km – 25 km – 50 km – 75 km – 100 km).

The 50 km distance will consist of one loop heading towards Iecava and back. Expected checkpoint distribution (0 km – 25 km – 50 km).

The precise route description will be published in the pre-start information.

The route will be partially marked in the field with special signs or markers. There are three ways to follow the route:

  1. Using an app on your phone (no internet connection required)

    1. Download the app "OsmAnd" from the App Store or Google Play (no registration required)

    2. Load the Latvia map in the app so it can be used offline.

    3. A GPX route file will be available in the pre-start information email, which can be loaded into the app.

    4. This method allows you to follow the route without an internet connection. If you have any questions about the app, assistance will be available at the event centre before the start.

  2. Loading the route file onto your sports watch

    1. GPX and KML route files will be available in the pre-start information email, which can be loaded onto sports watches.

  3. Receiving a printed route on paper

    1. To receive a printed map, this must be indicated when filling in the registration form. The number of printed materials will be limited, given the large scale and paper-saving considerations.

REGISTRATIONS

Registration is open from 24 April 2026 until 14 June 2026 at 23:59. On-site registration on the day of the event will also be possible, but places are limited and in such cases the organizers cannot guarantee confirmation of the application.
