100 kilometer hike “K-100”

THE PURPOSE OF THE EVENT is to promote active recreation in nature, as well as to challenge the participants to test their limits in honor of themselves, the Latvian state, and its freedom for more than 100 years.

RULES

EVENT FORMAT: a hike with a control time of 26 hours, route length is 100km.

Participants start the distance at the time and place indicated in the regulations. The task of the event participants is to walk a 100-kilometer predetermined distance within the specified control time.

By registering for the hike, participants confirm that they have read the competition regulations and the additional information provided by the organizers, and also undertake to comply with all the rules mentioned in the regulations and additional instructions from the organizers.


SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Respect and protect the values created by nature and people, do not pollute the surrounding environment, and dispose of waste in designated places.
  2. Encounters with wild animals are possible on the route. Be careful!
  3. When moving along public roads and city streets, traffic rules must be observed.
  4. Failure to follow instructions, regulations, and additional instructions from the organizers may result in disqualification. It is also forbidden to participate in the hike under the influence of alcohol or drugs, to behave recklessly, and to show disrespect towards other participants and organizers.
  5. Be careful near bodies of water! If you are not sure that swimming is allowed there, better not go!


INSTRUCTIONS FOR PARTICIPANTS

  1. While on the route, it is mandatory to wear a reflective vest and have a headlamp or wrist lamp turned on.
  2. Each participant must carry a mobile phone with a charged battery, so that in case of emergency it is possible to contact the organizers. The organizer's mobile phone number will be indicated on the laminated participant card.
  3. Upon registration, each participant will receive a personalized A5 format laminated card intended for participant identification and important information. The card with a ribbon must be worn around the neck or attached to the backpack in a visible place. It must be visible throughout the competition!
  4. If a participant wishes to withdraw from the hike, it is MANDATORY to inform the organizers, even if separate evacuation is not required. The participation fee is not refunded upon withdrawal from the event.
  5. A participant may invite their own support person, who will be allowed to help only at the start, finish, and/or specified checkpoints in the regulations. The support person is prohibited from assisting the participant on the route.
  6. The participant undertakes not to make claims against the organizers for injuries sustained due to overestimating their abilities, not assessing circumstances, their own carelessness, or lack of experience.
  7. Participants must arrange their own transport to and from the event location.
  8. The participant undertakes to help any other participant in difficulty, as well as to immediately inform the organizers if it is observed that any participant has health problems.
  9. By observing traffic rules and safety, it is possible to complete the hike in such a way as not to endanger your health and life.
  10. By registering for the hike, the participant confirms that they do not object to the publication of the hike results on the association's K-PUNKTS website and social networks, where the name, surname, and result will be publicly available.
  11. By participating in the hike, participants agree that photos and videos taken during the event may be used for the publicity of this and other K-PUNKTS events and for promoting an active lifestyle, as well as for using the personal data provided in the application for compiling and publishing results in printed form, electronic media, and social networks.

Participation in the event is from 18 years of age, age is determined on the first day of the event (November 17, 2025)

The participant is responsible for their own health and safety.

CHECKPOINTS, THEIR WORKING HOURS

During the route, it will be necessary to visit 5 checkpoints – start, KP1, KP2, KP3, and finish.

These checkpoints are included in the route and must be visited in the previously mentioned order. Each checkpoint has its own working hours, during which the participant must also arrive – arriving earlier/later does not guarantee the availability of the equipment mentioned in the pre-start information.

The exact location, working hours, and available amenities of the checkpoints will be specified later.

TERRAIN

The hike route mostly leads along large, clearly visible roads that are easy to follow. During the route, you will move along forest trails, gravel and asphalt roads, sidewalks, as well as a bit along the highway and small footpaths. The route planner recommends choosing shoes for harder surfaces.

ROUTE, REQUIRED EQUIPMENT FOR ROUTE FOLLOWING

The hike distance is 100km, circular, with start and finish at Salaspils Sports Center. At the beginning of the route, you will have to go through the center of Salaspils towards Kangari along the old Ērgļi railway line. After that, the route will lead along minor roads towards Suntaži, and then further to the forests of Ogre. In the last section, there will be a walk along the bends of the Daugava river to the finish. The exact route description will be published in the pre-start information.

The route in nature will be partially marked with special signs or indications. There are three ways to follow the route:

  1. Using an app on your phone (no internet connection required)
  2. You need to download the “OsmAnd” app from the App Store or Google Play (no registration required)
  3. You need to download the map of Latvia in the app to use it offline.
  4. In the pre-start information sent by email, there will be a gpx route file that can be uploaded to the app. This method allows you to follow the route even without an internet connection. If you have any questions about this app, you will be able to get help at the event center before the start.

  1. Receiving a printed route on paper. To receive a printed map, it must be indicated when filling out the registration form. The number of printed materials will be limited, considering the large scale and paper-saving aspects.

APPLICATIONS

Registration for the competition is from September 1, 2025, to November 10, 2025, 23:59. It will be possible to register on-site on the day of the competition, but the number of places is limited and in such a case the organizers do not guarantee confirmation of the application.

The participant submits the application online by filling out the application form on the website https://www.k-punkts.lv/. By applying for the event, the participant confirms that they have read the regulations and undertake to comply with them.

The participation fee covers route planning and preparation, printing and laminating participant cards, souvenirs, catering at checkpoints, medical assistance, evacuation services, and other organizational expenses. The participation fee must be paid by transfer to the bank account indicated during registration by the last date of the respective fee period. Unpaid applications will be deleted within 3 working days after the deadline.

Free changes to the application can be made until November 10, 23:59, by writing to [email protected].

If a participant cancels their participation in the event by November 10, 23:59 (notifying the organizer by email), 50% of the paid participation fee will be refunded. If the participant cancels after November 10, withdraws, or is disqualified from the event, the participation fee is not refunded.

AWARDING

By visiting all checkpoints and successfully finishing, each participant will receive commemorative badges and souvenirs from this event.
